I'm Sick
ok so we are all sick but I am by far the one feeling most sorry for myself, I get wickedly awful vertigo on a monthly basis and I also woke up with the kids colds.

So far the morning has gone well, lots of puzzles and lego and abc kids... nap time now, for everyone I think

ok so the original post I made about the benefits of a blog got totally lost when I hilighted it and somehow hit the back space key instead of copy, sufice to say I think this is another way of record keeping, I first thought it was a bit strange putting it all out there for anyone to see and a little presumptious that anyone would care, hence the name useless ramblings, then I worked out that it was important to me. When I started my blog 5 years a ago it was with greymatter until one day the server that hosted my web site had a dummy spit and it would never work again, thankfully I have all the archives. I'm glad because I started it the day I found out I was pregnant.

Now it is a way for me the share what I do, keep in touch with friends I make and get down our day to day lives..

Change and Harmony
Alec and I just came home from the beach, when I picked him up from kindy I asked if he would like to go and his response was "yes please! that would be marvelous" how could I not take him after that response.

it was a little rough but we ran up and down the beach and stood in the waves, it was a great recharge and de-stress for me. I had to make a call this morning about money and it always leaves me feeling anxious, so getting out in the frsh air was great.

last night I had a lovely call from Jsutine Quinlivan, we are going to be manning the Scrapbooking Memories studio here in Perth for the Quilt and Craft Fair, it was so nice speaking to her, I think we are going to have a great time, just think a whole 5 days to tell people how much we love scrapbooking!

Take care.. I'm off to scrap!

A Fresh Start
When productivity falls to zero and deadlines and photos start piling up you know something has to change. I woke up from a nap yesterday and walked out and said.. "Michael, come help me get that bookcase out!" it had been in the garage gathering cat hair and daddy long legs for 2 years so we washed it off and while Michael kept going with the garage I started on my scraproom, which started the day looiking like this!

Six hours later! I can never again say I don't have many scrap supplies but I now have somewhere much nicer to work. It is also nice to see the floor again, I can't think how many months it has been since I drag the vacuum cleaner in here.

Chris Millar Inspired!
I was looking at Chris Millar's blog Friday and saw the wonderful tags and name badge she had made for the Scrap Needs retreat. Well I needed to make a name badge to wear when I work in the shop and for classes so I was inspired by Chris' wonderful creation to make this.

Still can't quiet get the Chris Millar pic thing yet but I'm trying!

And all her doodles had me trying them for the first time, the flowers cover many slips of the pen! I never meant for it to get so busy but I'm really happy with it!

I should be scrapping!
I only have one more class sample to make and if I hadn't been so disorganised and dippy this morning I would have it finished and started on my beach layout from 3 weeks ago and Alec's birthday party 2 weeks ago! I have done the journaling for the party, I just think it sounds shallow. Sometimes it is hard to say what you want to say without putting too much of a negative cast on things, I want birthdays to be whimsical and light and airy, anyway here is me and the boys at 7:30am this morning

and this is my matchbox and matchbook album class sample, I now have about 800 matches if anyone is short!

Last but not least an altered notebook sitting on a clove of garlic.. sorry girls but the garlic clove isn't included in the class kit it is an extra!

Where did the week go?
We have been so busy! Yesterday I spent 47 minutes at home, from meetings at kindy to speech then Alec and I went on to the shop for a class schedule meeting, I had trains and track, pillows and blankets plus all my soon to be store sample in tow, it took 3 of us to get it all back out to the car.

Alec was just fantastic, especially considering he had been out all day also, we had to go "next door" first, next door is a second hand toy store located right next door the the scrap shop, he had his train selected before we even got in there. He had a ball, he went from playing trains to 'just going down stairs mum............you stay there!' to laying down under the window, then the moment came..'mum can I have my scrapcooking', he sat and he glued and stuck and then was so proud of himself, poor Di she said'oh Alec that is beautiful can I put that up in my shop?' 'No my scrapcooking is coming home wif me' he says, so here is Alec's first scrapcooking page.

The only downside of the day was having to drive to Subiaco and pick up Riley and then drive 40 minutes in peek hour traffic while he screamed all the way, no wonder Alec has sensory issues, poor baby kept saying, 'stop it Riley you're hurting my ears!' When we got home at 5pm we then had to bake 2 cakes, 2 batches of cookies and some baby quiche for Michael's send off morning tea, yayyyyyyyy 2 weeks holiday now before he starts his new job!
